The 8 Slayer styles with the trainer, the map location and the exact shopping list you need before you travel.
Breathing Styles are the Slayer damage system: eight styles, each taught by one trainer, each gated behind Level 25 plus materials. You do not pick a style from a menu — you find the trainer and complete their training chain.
Trainer names, locations and requirements cross-checked against two October 2026 guides. Tier notes are community-reported and shift with balance patches.

How the unlock chain runs
- Reach Level 25 and buy the materials before you travel — trainers will not start the questline without them.
- Find the trainer at the location above and accept the training quest.
- Complete the training tasks. The Wind chain, for example, runs Meditation → Push Ups → Aim Training → Boulder Split at Butterfly Mansion, then a duel with the trainer.
- Spend skill points in the Skill Tree — unlocking the style does not give you its moves for free.
Picking a style
- Thunder is the usual first pick: low material cost (10 Demon Horns), no Wall Climb shortcut needed beyond the peak, and strong burst for early bosses.
- Wind costs 50 Demon Horns and sits in the cold biome — do it after you have the Emberheart Lantern.
- Stone is the only style that wants gear instead of horns (Axe + Mace) plus Beast Cores.
- Water is the only style with a Wen cost (5,000) on top of horns, and it is hidden underwater near Bamboo Grove.
